Description

Aluminum PCB is a metal-based copper-clad board with good heat dissipation properties.The aluminum PCB can carry a higher current than traditional FR-4 within the same thickness and trace width.

1.Structure

Circuit Layer: It’s composed of copper foil. The weight of the copper foil usually ranges from 1 to 10 ounces. The copper foil is used to form the conductive lines of the circuit for carrying current and signal transmission.

Insulating Layer: Generally made of ceramic – polymer materials and so on. It has excellent heat resistance and visco – elasticity. This is a very important layer, which plays the role of electrical insulation, preventing the current in the circuit layer from leaking to the metal base layer. At the same time, it can also protect the circuit board from potential mechanical and thermal stresses.

Metal Base Layer: Composed of an aluminum alloy base, it provides support and a foundation for the circuit board. The presence of aluminum makes this kind of PCB very suitable for through – hole technology, facilitating the multi – layer connection and component installation of the circuit board.

2.Characteristics and Advantages
