Description
The wireless barcode scanner is a device that uses optical principles to convert digital symbols such as barcodes and QR codes into digital signals that can be recognized by computers. It is free from the constraints of data cables and uses wireless transmission technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 2.4G to transmit data to terminal devices such as computers, mobile phones, and tablets.
1.Components
Optical scanning module: This is the core component responsible for emitting light to illuminate barcodes or QR codes and receiving the reflected light, converting it into an electrical signal. The quality of this module determines the scanning speed and accuracy of the scanner. For example, a high-resolution optical scanning module can quickly and accurately recognize various complex barcodes.
Wireless transmission module: Used to transmit the scanned barcode data to the receiving device. Common wireless transmission methods include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 2.4G. Different transmission methods have differences in transmission distance, stability, and compatibility.
Power module: Provides power support for the wireless barcode scanner. Generally, a rechargeable lithium battery is used to ensure the scanner’s battery life. Some wireless barcode scanners also support an external power adapter for convenient long-term use in fixed locations.
Control circuit: Controls and coordinates various components of the scanner to ensure the normal operation of scanning and data transmission. The control circuit may also contain some memory chips for temporarily storing the scanned data for data caching in case of unstable signals or interrupted transmissions.
2.Working Principle
When the user presses the trigger button of the barcode scanner, the optical scanning module emits light. The light shines on the barcode or QR code. Due to the different reflectivity of the black and white bars or blocks of the barcode or QR code to light, the reflected light is received by the optical scanning module.
The optical scanning module converts the received light signal into an electrical signal and processes and encodes it through the control circuit to convert it into a digital signal.
Finally, the wireless transmission module sends the digital signal to the paired terminal device. The relevant software on the terminal device parses and processes the data to realize the reading of barcode or QR code information.
3.Application Scenarios
Retail industry: In retail places such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and specialty stores, wireless barcode scanners are used in links such as commodity warehousing, outgoing, inventory taking, and cashiering. Cashiers can quickly scan commodity barcodes to obtain commodity information and prices, improving cashier efficiency; store clerks can use wireless barcode scanners for inventory taking to timely understand the inventory situation of commodities.
Logistics industry: In links such as express package pickup, sorting, transportation, and delivery, wireless barcode scanners can quickly scan the barcodes on packages to record package information and realize real-time tracking and management of logistics information. In addition, in warehouses, wireless barcode scanners can be used for goods warehousing, outgoing, and warehouse location management to improve warehouse management efficiency.
Medical industry: In aspects such as drug management, medical record management, and test report management in hospitals, wireless barcode scanners can be used to scan drug barcodes, medical record numbers, test report numbers, etc., improving the accuracy and efficiency of medical management. For example, doctors can quickly obtain patient medical record information by scanning the patient’s medical record number to provide a basis for diagnosis and treatment.
Manufacturing industry: In the production line, wireless barcode scanners can be used to scan the barcodes of parts and components to record part information and realize the traceability and quality management of the production process. At the same time, in warehouse management, wireless barcode scanners can be used for raw material warehousing, outgoing, and inventory taking to improve production management efficiency.
